Month 1 Recap · June 2026 · Rhett Edwards Counseling

Month 1: here's what changed.

Quick version: the plan for this month was to quietly fix the plumbing on your old site. Instead we did something bigger — you have a brand-new website, and it's live on your own domain. Here's the before-and-after, in plain terms, plus where we go from here.

Month 1 of 4 · Complete
01 — The headline

Your new site is live at rhettedwards.com.

When I got under the hood of the old Squarespace site, the honest call was that patching it would cost you more in the long run than rebuilding it right. So that's what we did: a brand-new site, built from the ground up around how you actually talk about your work — and then moved onto your own domain, off the monthly Squarespace rent.

The part most people lose sleep over — email — never blinked. I moved everything over and tested it end to end before and after the switch; messages to and from your address kept flowing the whole time. No downtime, nothing in your inbox to do.

What this means for you

One site you own, faster and cleaner than before, that you'll fold into our retainer instead of paying a separate monthly bill for.

02 — Everything from the punch-list

The things that were quietly working against you — all fixed.

Every issue I flagged in the audit is now resolved and live on the new site:

03 — Set up to be found

The Google groundwork that was never finished.

This is the invisible work that decides whether you show up when someone searches. It's now in place:

Still finishing this week

Loading your office photos into your Google profile — and the over-the-shoulder LENS shot once you take it. That's the last piece.

04 — Where you started

The "before" picture we'll measure against.

I captured these the week before I touched anything — so three months from now we can show exactly what moved. The site only just went live, so this is the starting line, not a result yet. Worth being upfront about that: the numbers below are where we began.

What we're tracking Where it was (late May) Where we're headed
People visiting your site each month~63150
People who actually reach out~1 / month4–5 / month
Google Business Profile completenessabout half-builtfully active
"counselor near me, Spring TX"not in local resultsin the local 3-pack
"LENS neurofeedback Houston"invisibletop 3
Psychology Today profile views~1 / month5–10 / month

The most encouraging number from the audit, for context: when people did reach your LENS page, they spent over seven minutes reading it — they just couldn't find it. That's exactly what this month's work was built to fix.

05 — What's nextJuly · Month 2

Make the site sell for you.

With the foundation solid and the site live, Month 2 is about proof and story:

The short list from you

The LENS-in-session photo + your 2–3 minute video, the brain-mapping wording, and your okay on which reviews to feature. All of it lives at the top of your 4-Month Plan — none of it blocks anything.

In a sentence

One month in, you're live and findable.

The hardest, most invisible part — the rebuild and the move — is behind us. From here it's proof, polish, and getting you in front of more of the right people. Take a look at the live site with fresh eyes and tell me what you think.
